What you need to know when Cremation is Preferred

When Cremation is Preferred

Many families, when considering cremation, believe that this is the only decision they have to make, and do not realize that it is only a form of final disposition. Selecting cremation does not take away the opportunity to have a ceremony, either with the body present or after cremation occurs, and families can have a viewing component as well.

Decisions You Must Make When Choosing Cremation

  • What form of remembrence would be meaningful to your family?
  • Should you take the opportunity to view your loved one?
  • If you are scattering, have you considered a biodegradible urn to create a more meaningful scattering ceremony?
  • What will you do with the cremated remains?

You may wish to keep the remains at your home for a time, until you feel ready to let go of them, or when all family members can be present for a scattering ceremony.  We can offer you the pros and cons of this choice, so you can make a more informed decision.

If you are looking for a unique way to keep a portion of cremated remains close to you, our professional Funeral Directors can advise you on unique ways to memorialize a loved one using the cremated remains, including the creation of art glass objects, thumbprints, and jewelry. We also offer a wide selection of cremation keepsake jewelry.

We can also specialize in creating ceremonies centered around scattering the cremated remains at sea, or in the air.

Call us today to explore cremation options, and the many creative ways you can memorialize a loved one either before, or after, the cremation has occurred.
