Obituary for Marion E. O'Malley (Hersom)

Marion E. O’Malley, 105 years, of Sanford, ME died peacefully at St. Andre’s Healthcare Center in Biddeford.

Marion was born November 13, 1908 in Old Orchard Beach, ME, a daughter of Joel and Mabel (Seaward) Hersom. She attended local schools and worked at Kesslon Shoe for many years.

Marion was a hard working lady who loved life and accepted all of the challenges as an opportunity to discover something new in life. She was very positive and well organized and always had her daily routine and activities preplanned and prioritized. It was amazing to see how much she could accomplish in a day. She loved children and keeping up with the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always looking for the beauty in life, she also loved flowers.

Marion was predeceased by her husband, James O’Malley; her son, Charles Bedard; and her grandsons, Charles R. Bedard, Robert P. Bedard and David W. Bedard.

She is remembered and lovingly missed by, her grandchildren, Leslie James Bedard and his wife, Joanne, and Steven Michael Bedard and his wife, Meagan, Debbie Bedard and Johnny Bedard; her granddaughters in law, Eleanor Bedard and Natalie Bedard; her step grandchildren, Elaine Tibbetts, Walter Barstow and Michael Bedard; and many great grandchildren.

Friends and family may visit from 10 -11 am on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. A funeral service will follow at 11 am at Bibber Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Arundel Cemetery in Kennebunkport.
