Harold “Nick” E. Nickerson, 93, of Kennebunk, died Saturday evening, March 14, 2015 at the Newton Center in Sanford. He was born in Arlington, MA on November 4, 1921, the son of Albert Monroe Nickerson and Edna Mae (Adams) Nickerson. He grew up in Acton, MA, graduating from Acton High School in the Class of 1939. Harold served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, assigned to USS Taylor (DD-468) as Seaman First Class. Following his military service, he began a career in sales and worked with Essex County Co-op, The Farm Bureau Association and finally for Agway where he retired.
Harold was the husband of Lillian R. (Briggs) Nickerson, who predeceased him in November 2000.
Harold & Lillian Nickerson were summer residents of Lake Messalonskee in Sidney, ME from 1978 until 2000.
He is survived by his only son, Leighton M. Reed-Nickerson of Camas, WA.
He leaves his life partner, Mary V. Briggs also of Kennebunk, Me. Also he leaves his niece, Susan V. Briggs of Lyman, ME and his nephew David R. Briggs of Sandwich, MA.

When the weather improves, there will be a Graveside Memorial Service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in West Acton, MA.

Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk.
