Wells- Joanne Villa Jellison, 71 years, of Wells died November 22, 2015 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford following a period of declining health.

Joanne was born July 3, 1944 in York, ME a daughter of Ralph and Esther (Hutchins) Boston. She married Edward Jasper Jellison on April 16, 1966. They celebrated 23 years together until Edward’s untimely passing in 1990.

Joanne enjoyed being a homemaker taking care of her family. She loved any time that she had with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed lunches and Bingo games with her friends. She enjoyed the years she was a chambermaid at the Norseman Resort in Ogunquit. Her friends and memories, that she made there, were a constant source of fond amusing stories.

In addition to her husband, Edward, Joanne was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Gwendolyn Shaw.

Joanne is greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons, Edward Jasper Jellison, Jr. and his wife, Melony, of Kennebunkport and Steven Richard Jellison and his wife, Bobbie, of Wells; her four grandchildren, Douglas Clifford Chandler Jellison of Kennebunkport, Kailee Elizabeth Jellison of Springvale, Bennie R. McMinis, III of Wells and Hayden T. Jellison of Wells, her brothers, Edward Boston of North Berwick and Richard Boston of Rome, NY; her sister, Victoria ‘Queenie’ Sayward of Sanford; her step brother, Bobby Greer of Portland; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit on Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 2-4 pm at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME where a Celebration of Her Life will be held at 4 pm with Rev. Charity Omartian. Interment will follow at a later date in Ocean View Cemetery in Wells.
