Dateline - Atlanta, GA

Wayne Preston Rowe, 53, of Atlanta, GA died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday May 29, 2016 in Wells, ME as a result of a medical condition. He was born in Boston, MA on October 26, 1962, the son of Preston Brainard and Phyllis Muriel (Wasser) Rowe. He lived in Winchester, MA, Haverford, PA and Talladega, AL where he attended elementary through High School. He later graduated from Ayers State Technical College in Anniston, AL. During his teenage years he also spent a number of summers in Wells, ME, where he grew to love this area and enjoyed many trips back to the area through the years.

His various career paths and relocations allowed him opportunity to meet many friends across the country. He spent a number of years in Haverhill, MA before moving to Aurora, CO where he was employed as an optician. Later, after returning to New England, he worked as a commercial long distance truck driver, living in Tilton, NH and Manchester, NH. More recently, his travels led him to relocate to Houston, TX for a short while, and then to Atlanta, GA where he was employed as a Safety Supervisor for a trucking company.

In his free time, Wayne enjoyed photography, mountain climbing, and playing darts. He was a fan of anything having to do with science fiction, and Dungeons and Dragons. Wayne volunteered as a troop leader with the Boy Scouts. During some of his time in Wells he volunteered with the Wells Police Department in several capacities.

Wayne is survived by two sons, Wayne Preston Rowe, Jr of Dover, NH, James Paul Rowe of Dover, NH; his daughter, Christina Eppleston and husband Paul of Van Nuys, CA; his parents, Preston and Phyllis of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, James Kurt Rowe and wife Kelli of Foley, AL, Preston Brainard Rowe III and wife Fiona Ritchie of Haverhill, MA; two sisters, Patricia Dianne Sisk of Talladega, AL, Katrina Melinda Rowe of Burlington, VT. He is also survived by two ex-wives, Margaret Rowe of Dover, NH and Diane Ouellette of Manchester, NH along with several nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, during which time stories and memories may be shared.
