Obituary for Raymond Vaillancourt

WELLS, Raymond R. Vaillancourt, 79, of Wells, formerly of Hartford, CT. died Monday morning, August 6, 2016 at Varney Crossing in North Berwick in the company of his longtime companion Richard Michaud, following a brief illness.

Raymond was born August 25, 1936 in Hartford, CT, the son of George and Yvonne LaBrie Vaillancourt, and attended Hartford Schools.

He served in the US Army, based in Ft. George Meade in Maryland.

Raymond was self-employed teaching piano lessons to many students in the Hartford area. With a love of theatre, he and Richard were instrimental in forming the Rumple Players, combining their talents with other performers to stage musicals in various venues throughout Hartford.

Moving to Wells 15 years ago, he became Richards’ primary caretaker as his health declined.

Survivors include his companion of 51 years, Richard C. Michaud of Wells, two brothers Robert Vaillancourt of North Carolina, and Donald Vaillancourt of Delray Beach, FL,

A graveside service, with Military Honors, will be held 12 Noon Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Springvale, ME.
