Obituary for Kathryn H. "Kay" Lefebvre (Hanson)

Kathryn Hanson Lefebvre, 100, formerly of West Kennebunk, Maine died after a short illness on Tuesday, January 3 at the Groton Regency Nursing facility in Groton, Connecticut.
Kathryn was born June 19, 1916 in Wells, Maine, the daughter of Willis and Ruby Hanson. She attended Wells schools and briefly worked at Kesslen Shoe Company in Kennebunk.
“Kay” as she was known by her friends, married her husband Everett Lefebvre on June 11, 1938 and lived in West Kennebunk, Maine until his death in 1993. Kay remained alone there until 2003 when she moved to North Stonington, Connecticut to live with her son Ronald and his wife Lois for eight years before going into assisted living and then the nursing home.
Kay was a good homemaker and mother, always ready to serve a delicious meal. She especially enjoyed the summer months, always with gardens of flowers and vegetables, and blueberries she picked in the woods behind her house.
In addition to the loss of her husband, Kay is predeceased by her brothers, Ralph, Henry, Rodney, Willis, Harry and sister Cora Roleau. She is survived by her son Ronald who lives with his wife Lois in Oxford, Mississippi; grandson Scott in Naples, Florida; granddaughter Terry Blackmarr in Oxford, Mississippi and two great grandchildren, Ryan Blackmarr and Samantha Lefebvre.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at 11 am at Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk, ME.
