Obituary for Nona N. Treworgy (Clark)

Nona Norton Treworgy, 92, of the Kennebunk Center for Health & Rehabilitation died February 15, 2017. Nona was born in Solon, Maine June 18, 1924, 7th of 10 children to Harry and Eula Bean Clark.

Nona was a graduate of Solon High School and North-Eastern Business College, Portland Maine. She was a telephone operator in Solon and Augusta. She enjoyed cooking, square dancing, traveling, and hand work including needlework, rug braiding and Oriental rug making. She was lucky to be able to do quite a bit of traveling with both her husbands, including trips to Hawaii, Canada, Germany, France, Austria, etc. She and Carl wintered in Myrtle Beach, SC for many years after their marriage in 1983.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Spending time with her loving family meant the most to her.

Nona was predeceased by two husbands. She married Richard A. Norton November 6, 1947 who died December 2, 1981 and married Carl L. Treworgy on August 19, 1983 who died April 13, 2006. She was also predeceased by her parents and seven of her brothers and sisters.

Nona is survived by her four children - Anita Bonnevie and her husband, Russell of Bethlehem, NH; Gregory Norton of Goffstown, NH; Laurie Whitney and her husband, Gene of Limerick; Arthur Clarke and wife, Stella of New Gloucester; stepson S. Scott Treworgy and wife, Linda of Gardiner; stepdaughter, Mary Lee Tibbetts and husband, Terry of Ocala, Florida; brother, Gene Clark and wife, Avis of Gray and brother, Cecil James Clark of Cedartown, Georgia; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Old South Congregational Church, Hallowell and associate member of First United Methodist Church, Myrtle Beach, SC.

A private graveside service will be held at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta, Maine.
