Obituary for Barbara Jean Clark (Welch)

Barbara Jean  Clark (Welch)
Mrs. Barbara Jean (Welch) Clark died late Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough Maine after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on July 1, 1937 in Englewood NJ. Barbara grew up in Westbury Long Island and graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA.
She lived in Concord, Westborough and Grafton MA and Kennebunk and Saco, ME.
Barbara was a member of the League of Women Voters and was a member of the alter guild at All Saints Church in Worcester, MA and St. David’s Episcopal Church in Kennebunk ME. She was an active member of the Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross in Byfield, MA until she was taken ill.
Barbara enjoyed sailing, reading, knitting and cheering for the Red Sox as well as spending time with her many friends.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 38 years, Dr. Sam L. Clark, and her stepson, Jeffrey. She is survived by her siblings, Carol Snyder of Fleming Island, FL and William Welch and his wife, Angela, of Williamsburg, VA; her daughters, Leanne Jolin and her husband, Scott, of Old Lyme CT and Cynthia Houghton and her partner, Paul Carr, of Falmouth ME; her son, Christopher Dimmock and his partner, Susan Rosenhain, of Bur Ridge, IL; her 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday March 4, 2017 at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Kennebunk with Reverend Andrew D’Angio White. Committal will be at All Saints Church with the date to be determined by her family.
