Condolences

Condolence From: Dottie Nyland Warmbier
Condolence: My mother, Louise Nyland, introduced me to Louis when I was a teenager. She held him in the highest esteem and while my meeting was only in passing, I felt his warmth and generous spirit immediately. Later, As a young single mother I sent him a greeting and I just found the letter he sent me in 1989. His beautiful words were needed greatly today. But I was in tears thinking how sad my choices were to never try to reach out in person. But these words were in that letter:

Many of us could look back twenty years and wonder why we didn’t do certain tasks at that time, but that is not how we are measured in life; it’s how we have grown into a greater maturity and become more at one with ourselves and the life we encounter every day. A willingness to be challenged by fresh ideas and the continued need for intellectual and aesthetic stimulation.”
My mother passed away in 2002 so I hope I can represent her as well with the sentiments that Louis was a shining light in our world.

Although incredibly late, my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Condolence: I met Lou when I was a regular for breakfast at the Wayfairer back in the 1980's. I found him to be very kind. When he learned that I was a Chicago Cubs fan, he gave me a Ron Santo baseball bat. I still have it and of course thought of Lou when the Cubs finally won the World Series last year. He was a gentleman and a very interesting and knowledgeable person.

Louis was a brilliant Man in many fields. He was an art scholar, loved the theater. But most of all he was great with people.not to mention the courage he showed through his life after being severely injured As a young man..through all the surgeries, and hardships he endured in his life.He certainly was an inspiration to me.

Condolence: Louise's "sparkle" for youth and fine art was not lost on me. Any time he shared with my daughter and later grand kids would upon leaving-put a "click" in Louise's heels.

Thanks for your friendship.

Condolences to all.

Condolence: Lou was a kind soul. We have known him for 35+ years. He was proud as I am of our Lebanese roots we often talked about our food. His love of the arts and its importance of children being exposed to the arts was his passion. He suffered so getting well after his horrendous burns when he was younger but love what life had to give him with a 2nd chance~ RIP Lou يرتفع إلى وجه الله يتمتع مجدها
