Obituary for Lucille A. Brooks (Mayo)

Lucille A. Brooks, 84, of Berwick, died Saturday afternoon, March 11, 2017 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Berwick on June 5, 1932, a daughter of John C. and Mary Jane (Moore) Mayo. She was the widow of Donald E. Brooks, who predeceased her in 2015.
Lucille retired from G.E. in 1989, and prior to that, worked at Roberts Shoe Shop in Somersworth. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, camping, and dancing.
In addition to her husband, Lucille is predeceased by four brothers, Richard, Albert, Robert, and John Mayo; three sisters, Rita Arnold, Anita Troegner and Rose Lajoie.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Heon and husband Normand of Berwick, ME; three sons, Richard Brooks and wife Denise of Berwick, Dana Brooks of Sanford, ME, Dale Brooks and wife Christine of Berwick, ME; two sisters, Jeanette Dumais of Zephyrhills, FL, Theresa Sansoucie of Rochester, NH; and one brother, Joseph Mayo of Berwick; eight grandchildren, Kyle and Craig Heon, Toni Mullen, Shelby Brooks, Mackenzie and Madison Brooks, Haley and Mitchell Brooks; five great grandchildren, Jacob and Hunter Heon, Avery Allender, Autumn Brooks and Nolan Mullen.
Visiting hours will be on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester Street, Berwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Parish of the Ascension/Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Agamenticus Road, South Berwick. Interment will be on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick. Should friends choose, memorial donations in her name are encouraged to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
