Condolences

Condolence From: Susan Rowan
Condolence: I first met Barbara as a student at Plymouth State College. During my tenure at Plymouth, my parents, Tom and Barbara Rowan, relocated to the area where they met and befriended Barbara. Barbara was smart, kind and cheerful. She will be missed.

Condolence From: Lynn Rudmin Chong
Condolence: Barbara was a good friend when we worked together at Plymouth State University, and then we exchanged Christmas letters. She chaired our English Dept. a number of years, and was fair to all. At Christmas we updated on our cats. She always asked about my daughters, Geneva and Marcy, and liked to hear their news. Barbara was not about ego, and when I read her retirement years activity in Kennebunkport, I see that she stayed true to kindness to the end. Adieu, good friend Barbara.

Condolence From: Jen Ouellette
Condolence: My daughter spent many Friday nights alongside Barbara as they volunteered weekly at a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for YCSP. Barbara had a soft spot for my daughter, and would always ask me when she saw me "how is my Savannah doing?" She never forgot her birthday, providing her gifts every year in recognition. She always signed the cards "love your friend, Barbara." She hand made my daughter a cap like hers to wear, stockings at Christmas time, and Easter treats every year. A wonderful woman who made an impact in this world. Our condolences to her family and friends.

Condolence: Barbara was a wonderful light in the world. The world needs more of the gentle and silent kindness she displayed. I do and I will miss her.

Condolence From: Brinda Van
Condolence: Without Barbara to light the way in so many endeavors, the road becomes a little more rocky. In the 33,years of our friendship, she gave to others and never asked for herself. This loving, intelligent, and insightful friend is sorely missed.
