Obituary for William R. Brown
Moody, ME
William Robert Lester Brown, 85 years, of Moody, ME died May 15, 2017 at the Kennebunk Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
William was born June 30, 1931 in Wells, Me a son of William and Mabel (Rundlett) Brown. After graduating from Wells High School, William proudly served his country for 20 years in the US Navy. He continued his work as a Radiation Control Instructor after his time in the service, working around the country at several Navy bases and shipyards including Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
William enjoyed woodworking, leather tooling, landscaping and riding. He enjoyed talking with friends and neighbors around town.
William was predeceased by his son, Bobby D.B. Brown and by his brother, Donald C. Brown.
William is survived by his son, Billy Osgood Brown, and his fiancé, Sheila Malone, of Orlando, FL; his brothers, Robert E. Brown, and his wife, Sandy, of Wells and Bruce A. Brown, and his wife, Maureen, of Wells; his first wife, Irma Brown; his companion, Joann Weber; five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 2 pm at Ocean View Cemetery, Wells, ME with Rev. Burton Howe.
