Obituary for James Edward "Jim" Peterson

Dateline – Ogunquit

James Edward Peterson, 76, of Ogunquit and Lowell, MA, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Ogunquit. He was born in Reading, MA on February 8, 1941, a son of John and Kathleen (Attoe) Peterson. He grew up in Reading, graduating from Reading High School, Class of 1959. He earned his Degree from Wentworth College in Boston. Jim was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966. He worked as a Mechanical Designer for Wang Labs.

Jim was an avid tennis and golf player, and was awarded the prestigious Francis Ouimet Golf Scholarship. When not playing tennis or golf, he enjoyed walking, all over town.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Muriel Peterson and Shirley Lake, and a brother, William Peterson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Ann Peterson of Ogunquit; his daughter, Christine Ann Peterson, his son in law, Scott McLeod, and their son, Connor “Ari” Peterson-McLeod, all of Wells; his son, Eric James Peterson of Ogunquit; two sisters, June Miley of Bridgton, ME and Muriel Toronto of East Weymouth, MA; a brother, Robert Alfred Peterson of Camarillo, CA; his niece, Shirley Brown of Warner, NH; and several faithful four-legged companions.
