Obituary for Duane M; Hutchins
PORTLAND ME. Duane M. Hutchins, 58, of Portland and former longtime resident of Kennebunk, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at his residence following a period of failing health.
Duane was born August 4, 1958 in Biddeford, the son of Malcolm F. and Marion P Brown Hutchins, and is a graduate of Kennebunk High School, class of 1977.
A fixture in local restaurants, Duane worked in the kitchens of many of the area’s restaurants, including the former Landing and Unicorn and Lion restaurants.
A people person, he enjoyed hanging with friends after work, especially if there was a band playing live music. He did enjoy taking to the woods hunting, and spending time with friends.
He is predeceased by his parents and sisters Beverly Hutchins and Linda Hutchins.
Survivors include his sister Sloan Amadon of Buxton, and his nephew Evan Amadon of Saco.
A graveside service will be held 1 PM Friday, July 7, 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery, Kennebunk.
