Obituary for Arthur F. Cofferen Sr.
Arthur F. Cofferen Sr, 86, of Wells, died early Friday morning, July 14, 2017 at the Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kennebunk following a period of failing health.
Arthur was born January 11, 1931 in Richmond, ME. the son of Maurice and Alnora Damren Cofferen, and was raised by his Aunt.
Arthur worked all his life, leaving school in the 3rd grade to work around the home/farm, and as he grew, began to drive trucks, which he pursued all his life, working as an owner/operator driving across country, ultimately driving over 7 million miles, according to family calculations.
Arthur was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and he found fellowship with several churches in York County.
He is predeceased by two children Arthur Jr, and Cynthia Baker.
Survivors include 5 sons : Edward Cofferen of Bow, NH, Maurice Cofferen of Sanford, Zachary Cofferen of Kennebunk, Harland Cofferen of South Berwick, and George Maxham of Farmington, ME, 4 daughters Blanche Cofferen of Shapleigh, Cheryl McChesney of Wells, Claudette Mack of Sanford, and Andrea Cofferen of Rumford, a brother Ray “sonny” Cofferen, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Rd. Wells, with a procession to Forest Glade Cemetery, Somersworth NH for a 12 Noon Graveside service.
