Obituary for Joyce G. Poulin (Graffam)

Joyce G. Poulin (Graffam)
Joyce G. Poulin, a lover of life and family, bingo enthusiast, bowler extraordinaire, seasoned traveler and, last but not least, a devout Christian, went to meet her Lord and Savior at 11 am on Saturday, July 15, 2017 with her loving family, as well as her best friend Ginny Dupee, by her side.

She was born July 23, 1937 to Lester K and Charlotte Howard Graffam Sr, and is a graduate of Kennebunk High School, and received her Associates Degree in business.

Joyce was longtime employee of the former W.L. Blake & Co. in Portland, retiring as the companies comptroller.

One could fill a book with all the adventures that she had with her brothers, sister, and many cousins while growing up in West Kennebunk. She fell in love and married a very charming and handsome Marine, Lawrence Roger Poulin on August 31, 1957. She then became “Super Mom”, working full time, but never sacrificing time for her two daughters.

A generous soul, welcoming to all whom she met, Joyce held her possessions with an open palm, because she trusted God and truly believed all things belong to Him.

Joyce is preceded in death by her brother Lester Graffam Jr., to whom she was a devoted sister.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lawrence Poulin; her daughters Conny (Ed) Markman, Karen (Sam) Anderson; grandchildren Chelsea Anderson, Christopher Markman, Becky Markman and Jenny Anderson, along with her precious great grandchildren, Jackson Battles and Xander Sequeira. Also left to remember her are her brother Willard Graffam, sister Charlotte McPherson and her many friends and extended family members.
A Memorial Service will be at 11 am on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the North Saco Congregation Church, 191 Heath Rd, Saco, ME.

In lieu of flowers and cards, donations may be made in Joyce's name to the Saco Food Pantry, PO Box 246, Saco, ME 04072.
