Condolences

Condolence From: Lori, Tom, Madisen, Cole and Austin
Condolence: Diane - You have been in my thoughts since I heard the news. When I think of you and Henk, I think of your laughter and obvious affection for each other. I think of your adventures and your travels together. I think of y'all's generosity and hospitality and love. I also think of your sneakiness (example: paying the restaurant bill behind our backs). May you find some peace and comfort in your memories of such a wonderful man. Leslie, Valerie, Tina and Lotti and families: what an amazing example of what made a good dad/step-dad/opa. I am so very sorry. As our Jewish friends say "may his memory be a blessing." Love, Lori, Tom, Madisen, Cole and Austin.

Condolence From: Kris Swanson
Condolence: Henk was one of the most influential men in my life and I had the great fortune of working with him at two different companies during our careers. Over the years, I greatly appreciated his advice and wisdom and was always impressed by the way he combined excellence in engineering with caring human relationships in his management. I will never forget his wonderful smile and laugh and the warmth that he demonstrated in his connections with others. He was truly unique and we will all miss him greatly. My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Schalke family.

Condolence From: Alan & Patti Burns
Condolence: We are so very sad. We have lost a dear friend and will always miss him. Henk was an unselfish, joyful and highly intelligent person who we had the privilege of knowing since meeting him and Diane on safari in Kenya almost 25 years ago. We attended their wedding 20 years ago. Henk and Diane were always so generous. We enjoyed comparing world travels with them. They were a source of inspiration in their ability to really experience the cultures of their destinations. We've shared many laughs with them and have been fortunate to have seen them from time-to-time over the years in the SF Bay Area, Massachusetts and Maine. We'll never forget how Henk helped Patti understand and prepare for her total hip surgery last year. Our hearts go out to Diane and wish we could be with her in person but our love and hugs are there in spirit. Henk will live on in our memories.

Condolence: Henk was one of the most interesting people I have ever met. He contacted me last year and was curious about Qualcomm ... That is the last time we talked. I still remember when he called me a "heavy hitter" . He had a lot of expressions like that, of course, and used humor so effectively in his life. He will be terribly missed by his wonderful family. Rest in peace, dear friend. Rest in Peace, dear friend
