Francis J. “Frank” Wilhelm, 80, of Davenport, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born in Boston, MA on November 18, 1936, a son of Francis Joseph and Catherine (Demarco) Wilhelm. He grew up in the Boston area, and graduated from Boston English High School, Class of 1954.

Following High School, Frank enlisted in the Army, attaining the rank of SP-4.

After his release from active duty, Frank earned his nursing degree from Bridgewater State College. He also attended Tri County Community College in North Carolina, and the University of New York Albany. Frank held certifications as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Certified Gerontological nurse. He worked at several locations over the years, including County of Ulster Health Department, Kingston, NY, Community Health Care in Windham, ME, ACMH Home Health Services, Kittanning, PA, and Keystone Neuro Rehab in Jeanette, PA, retiring in 2009. A man of deep faith, Frank became an ordained minister in May, 1978 in Chattanooga, TN.

In April 1975, Frank married Donna Joy Curry. Together they enjoyed nearly 41 years of marriage until her death in 2016. He is also predeceased by his brother, Harold L. DeMarco.

Frank is survived by a nephew, Dr. Michael J. DeMarco of Bloomsburg, PA; longtime friends and caregivers Ed and Tracy Davis of Davenport, FL.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Biddeford. Should friends choose, memorial donations in his name are encouraged to: Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation @ donate.cshospice.org.
