Ruth Pearl  Ravelson (Wiseman)
Ruth Pearl Ravelson, 92, of Wells, died Tuesday morning, August 8, 2017 at York Hospital in York, ME. She was born in Norwood, MA on November 12, 1924, the only daughter of Isaac and Bessie (Goodes) Wiseman. She grew up in Norwood, graduating from Norwood High School, Class of 1942.

Ruth enjoyed shopping, cheering for her beloved Red Sox, card playing, and spending time at Moody Beach, where she was a devoted sun worshiper.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Arthur Ravelson, and her brother, William Wiseman.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Elisse Varner and husband, Bruce Varner, OD, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; her two sons, Edward Ravelson and wife, Patti Kinzer, of Chestnut Hill, MA; Scott Ravelson and wife, Elaine, of Wellsley, MA; five grandchildren, Cory Ravelson, Benjamin Ravelson, Jennie Ravelson, Bryson Varner and wife, Ilena, Brook Varner and husband, Rodney Engelbosch; two great grandchildren, Brody Varner and Meg Varner; and her beloved friend and companion, Frederick Judge of Wells, ME.

There are no calling hours. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held later this fall at St. Mary’s Church, 236 Eldridge Road, Wells, ME. Should friends choose, memorial donations in Ruth’s name are encouraged to the charity of one’s choice.
