Obituary for Evelyn Lucille Morrill (Spittle)
Dateline – Berwick
Evelyn Lucille Morrill, 89, of Berwick, died Thursday evening, September 7, 2017 at Varney Crossing in North Berwick. She was born in Barre, MA on July 24, 1928, a daughter of Edwin Earl and Zella (Carpenter) Spittle. Evelyn moved with her family to Berwick at an early age.
For many years, she worked as a stitcher in several area shoe shops, including Janco in Rollinsford, NH. She was also a housekeeper at Riverside.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidering, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn was a member of the Riverside Grange in Lebanon, and was known to play a mean harmonica!
She is predeceased by two brothers, Edwin and Russell Spittle, and a sister, Judy Kelley.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, Leon Arthur Morrill of North Berwick; two sons, Steve Morrill of North Berwick, Gary Morrill of Berwick; her daughter, Wendy Vigneault of Lebanon; three sisters, Dorothy Morrill of Berwick, Sylvia McCall of South Glens Falls, NY, Pauline Vinson of NC; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
There are no visiting hours. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Berwick, with Pastor Skip Smith officiating. Should friends choose, memorial donations in her name are encouraged to: York Hospital Hospice, 127 Long Sands Road, York, ME 03909.
