Obituary for Priscilla E. Bushway (Cochrane)
Priscilla Ellen Bushway, 93 of Berwick, Maine, passed away quietly on Sunday October 22, 2017 at the Wentworth Home.
Born Dec. 11, 1923 in Berwick, where she lived most of her life, she was the daughter of Leroy and Clara (Bunker) Cochrane, and is a graduate of Berwick High School and the University of Maine.
She worked until retirement at GE in Somersworth. Priscilla loved cooking, sewing, water & snow skiing, line dancing, writing poems, plays and playing cards. She remained active for many years in the Grange, Golden Ages, Senior Center and the GE Choir. One of her favorite things was baking homemade Christmas cookies that she gave as gifts and she will be fondly remembered for her Chex mix she made and shared with the residents of the Wentworth Home.
She has resided at the Wentworth Home for the past 10 years where she made many friends. Thanks to the wonderful staff who loved and cared for Priscilla all these past years.
Priscilla is predeceased by her parents and husband Henry T. Bushway.
Survivors include her brother Edward Cochrane, niece Betty Stevens (husband Dennis), nephew Brian Cochrane, close cousin Joann Schafer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 404 High St, Somersworth, NH. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Somersworth.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Priscilla’s family would like to thank the all staff and hospice workers at the Wentworth Home for the wonderful care they provided over the last decade.
