Peter was a terrific athlete, and was highly acclaimed in swimming, tennis, wrestling and football. Peter was known around town for being the biggest small businessman. In 1981, Peter and his brother Jona founded “Bennetts' Sea and Country Store”. As recently as this past summer Peter and his son's were in Kennebunk pursuing yet another business venture which allowed him to spend quality time with his two sons and nephew William.
Peter always had an amazing drive to succeed. Whether in sports as a child or later in life as a businessman. He was an incredibly outgoing, friendly and thoughtful person. Wherever he went he made deep and lasting friendships.
Benny was always famous for having a great joke or story. He was a wonderful dad who wanted nothing but the best for his children. He has instilled many life lessons and traditions that will carry on for years to come. Deviled eggs at every celebration and “Always keep your left up” are just a few. Please remember Benny always lived by the adage: “Life is not a dress rehearsal, live each day to the fullest”.
