Obituary for Deborah Anne Burpee (Snow)

KENNEBUNK
Deborah Anne Burpee, 48, of Kennebunk, died suddenly in Burlington, MA on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Deborah, or Deb, as she was known to her friends, was born February 17, 1969 in Biddeford, the daughter of David and Joan (Derham) Snow, and was a graduate of Kennebunk High School, class of ‘87. In high school, she was an accomplished track and field athlete and many of her state records still stand in the books. Deb graduated from Gordon College, Wenham, MA with a Bachelor’s degree. She furthered her education and career by obtaining her Masters in Social Work from University of New England in Biddeford.

Combining her love of helping families and children, she has made her career in social work, having just recently begun working with KidsPeace Inc., in South Portland, as a clinician.

She loved spending time with her family, especially playing board games, and was known for her killer scrabble abilities. She also continued her love of sports by watching and supporting her sons play sports over the years, going to the Colony Beach, loving her pets Manny and Maya, and singing in all its forms, from solos to choirs.

Deb is predeceased by her parents.

Survivors include her sons, Quinn and Caleb Burpee of Kennebunk, a brother Jon Sheldon of Saco; sisters Wendie Sheldon, Michele Sheldon, Carole Snow, all of Kennebunk, and Sheila Sheldon Lecander of Stratton, a half- sister Martha Snow; nieces and nephews Chelsea and Kaelyn Lecander of Stratton, Megan Dubinski, Christopher, Nicholas, and Zachary Hannon, all of Kennebunk, and a wide circle of extended family.

Visiting hours will be held 5-8 PM Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St. Kennebunk, where a celebration of Deb’s life will be held 5 PM Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at the chapel.
