Obituary for Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Ramsdell

Elizabeth Ann Ramsdell, Betty to most, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 22, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. Born in Saco, she was brought up by her aunt and uncle, Idella and Wilbur Clough from a very young age and loved them as Mom and Dad along with their daughter Barbara who all spoiled her with love and affection.

Betty, in her early years, worked for doctors, Jim Habus, Oney Smith, and David Upton. In the 1970’s Glenn and Betty owned and operated the Carriage House Motel for ten years. Betty loved playing golf at Naples Heritage Country Club where they spent many winters in Naples Florida and also travelled to the Virgin Islands, West Coast and Hawaii.

Betty loved and cherished her nine grandchildren and could not see enough of them.

Betty was predeceased by her Mom and Dad, Idella and Wilbur Clough and three brothers, Ron, Jack, and Ray.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn of 56 years; her sons, Tom and wife, Linda, of Wells and Dan and wife, Chris, of Acworth, GA; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two sisters, Pat and Dianne, and half-sister Barbara Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME with Rev. Charity Omartian. A procession to Ocean View Cemetery for interment will follow. A reception for Betty's family and friends will be held at 29 Moody Heights, Wells, ME following the interment.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their exceptional care and kindness for both Betty and Glenn.
