Condolence From: Jane Witham Spinney
Condolence: I graduated with Josephine from GSTC in 1957. I remember her well. We had some really good times. I can still see her sitting on one of our beds in the dorm, peeling an orange.

Condolence: My dear 'aunt jody', You were one of the first to hold me when I was born. My days growing up were punctuated with your letters. I was blissfully unaware of what a busy and accomplished teacher, professor and Doctor of Education you were. My love for eternity to my Godmother, christopher wentworth xxoooxx

Condolence: Aunt Jo is one of the most intelligent and savvy ladies I had the pleasure of knowing. Her hand written birthday cards, always with a little gift in them and her continued genuine interest in the education and lives of all her great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews will forever hold a special place in my heart. She was the family historian and her stories were always intriguing. Not only did she remember but could recall the smallest of details. I fondly remember her visiting and chatting for endless hours on the phone with my Grandfather, her nephew, Kenneth Card and how they would remember years gone past and banter back and forth and laugh. Rest easy, lovely lady. You will forever be remembered with love and respect.

Condolence: It is with sadness that I heard of Great Aunt Jo's death. She was a very smart, sweet lady who was a joy to talk to. My dad, Ken Card, was her sister Gertrude's son, would talk to her often on the phone until his death almost three years ago. My daughter, Catarina, and I would go with my father to visit her at Gorham House and she was always very interested on how Catarina was doing in school. We would often receive notes and cards on special occasions and would look forward to what she had to say. My daughter always enjoyed the hand written notes that Aunt Jo would send. She was always so thoughtful and will be missed.

Condolence: Josephine was my mother's father's sister - my great-aunt. She was a smart, independent, and involved person who devoted her life to her expended family and to education. As a child I looked forward to the books she would give me as gifts. And my whole life I enjoyed talking to her about our family history. She was a very loving relative and she was loved back. Aunt Jo was the last of her siblings and she will be missed. Love you, Aunt Jo from your great-nephew Mike
