Obituary for John D. "JD" Daley

John D. "JD"  Daley
John D. “JD” Daley, 53 years, a resident of Kennebunk, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Canterbury, NH.
JD was born in Littleton, NH on March 16, 1964, a son of Richard D. and Joel Ann (Duranty)
Daley and graduated from Littleton High School, as well as from Bates College of Lewiston with a Bachelor’s Degree in History.
In his early years, he was captain on the “Sonny W” tour boat out of Kennebunkport, and he also worked at Boston Fuel and Transport of Boston, MA. He became history teacher for Noble High School in North Berwick and then for the last twenty years, he taught at Kennebunk High School until his death.
Mr. Daley also traveled to China every summer for many years teaching and building, and it is also where he and his wife Danelle adopted their daughter, MingGe Rose.
JD loved to go fishing, skiing, cooking, woodworking, working on his tractor and the great outdoors.
JD was survived by his wife of 28 years Danelle E. (Corbett) Daley, a son John Paul “Jack” Daley and a daughter MingGe Rose Daley all of Kennebunk, ME; his parents, Richard D. and Joel Ann (Duranty) Daley of Littleton, NH; a brother James M. Daley and his wife Linda of Webster, NY and two sisters, Jill Ann Daley-Gibson of Center Tuftonboro, NH and Jennifer Ann Fullerton and her husband Robert of Campton, NH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street Kennebunk, ME .
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Holy Spirit Parish – St. Martha’s Church, Portland Road, Kennebunk, ME.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Daley’s memory can be made to the orphanage where John worked and met his daughter, MingGe. Please make checks payable to: World Outreach and mail to: Chrys Walsh, 11 Patriots Drive, Kennebunk, ME 04043.
