Condolence From: Charlie (Choo Choo) Williams
Condolence: I was fortunate to meet Steve through our many years of annual Spring golf outings with his/our Rhode Island golf buddies out on the Cape with the Parente brothers. I was one of the Maryland fellows who would come up almost every year for the annual Gangbuster golf weekend. I would always look forward to seeing him and catching up on our lives - families, jobs, and travels. Steve was genuine and sincere and also a fun loving man. Even though I would only see him for a few days each year I knew him to be a very honest, caring, and compassionate man. I am very saddened to learn of his passing. To Bernice and and all the family and friends, I send my heartfelt sympathy. I pray for your strength during this difficult time.

Condolence: I too am very sad to hear of Steve's death. He called on our office in Vermont when he was with Maine Bonding/ Zurich. And later we ran into him from time to time at VT Mutual events. He was a true professional and he was great in the insurance industry. Our prayers go to his family.

Condolence: My deepest condolences on your loss. Steve was my fraternity brother at Chi Phi. I have never known a kinder, more humble person than Steve, a friend and gentleman in every sense of the word. You were truly blessed to have had him in your lives. PIK 1976

Condolence: Because I was away I was unable to attend Steve's memorial service. My agency Batchelder Bros, worked with Steve for several years. I can speak for my entire staff when I say Steve was the consummate gentleman and insurance professional. He was clearly a class act. We will miss him not only as a true professional but as a fine man as well.

Sincerely

Alden Thayer

Condolence: Dear Bernice, David, and Sarah,
I am so very sorrow for your loss. I have such great memories of the summer swim meets with North St. Johns. I looked forward to each Saturday because I knew I'd have a great time hanging out with Steve (your Dad) for a few hours. He was one of the most genuine men I had ever met and made people feel very much at ease. Although you moved to Maine some 18 years ago, the occasional times we talked on the phone or briefly got together made me feel like you still just lived across Rt. 99. I, and certainly many others, simply enjoyed being in his company. Rest In Peace, Steve!

Condolence: Bernice and family, After reading all of the beautiful condolences for Steve I realize that just about everything I wanted to say about Steve has already been said!!
Steve truly was a gentleman,He certainly had a way with people,he really cared about other peoples lives was such a good listener and very easy to talk to.
Steve and I got together every six weeks Thursday morning at 8:30 when he came to my salon to get his haircut. He always asked me about my children and Grandchildren if I was planning any trips or what we are doing for fun. I so enjoyed talking to him. Steve made the world a better place and I wish more people in this world were like him!!
Steve is truly going to be missed by so many and certainly by me!!
My thoughts and prayers are with Steve`s family at this very difficult time.

Condolence: I can remember specifically the first time I met Steve, visiting our office in Gorham while working for Zurich. He was a kind, thoughtful and truly wonderful person. It was only a few short weeks ago that he was visiting our agency and sitting and talking with Dottie and me. I wish his family all the best and for them to know he will truly be missed by all of us.

Condolence: Dear Bernice, Sarah, and David, I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news of Steve's passing. I have many memories of spending time with him when he and Bernice would visit Sarah and I at college or when I would come visit in Maine. He had a way to make you feel like the most important and interesting person in the room. He was genuine, caring, gentle, and a true gentleman. You don't meet people like him often throughout your life. Love to all of you during this difficult time.
