Obituary for Valmore Lionel St. Lawrence

Valmore Lionel  St. Lawrence
Valmore Lionel St. Lawrence, 85 years, died April 15, 2018 at home following a period of declining health.

Val was born in Dover, NH on September 10, 1932, a son of Ovid and Mary (Gagne) St. Lawrence. Val proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Val was a lineman for the MBTA. On April 13, 1958, Val married Betty Elaine Jenkins. They celebrated 56 years together until her passing in 2014.

Val enjoyed life and found pleasures in the simple things including a stop at McDonald’s for a cheeseburger or riding his tractor while mowing the lawn. He really loved spending time with his family and following his grandson, Jeremy, in the racing circuit. He helped Jeremy start at a young age racing go-carts and continued sponsoring him throughout his racing career.

Val was predeceased by his wife, Betty in 2014; his daughter, Vickie Lynn Decourcy in 2015; and his three brothers.

Val is lovingly remembered by his grandson, Jeremy Russell Decourcy; his son in law, Eric Charles Decourcy; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit from 4-7 pm on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester Street, Berwick, ME. A funeral service will be held at 11 am at Laing-Bibber on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Interment with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Berwick.
