Obituary for Nancy Twaddle Meserve

Nancy Twaddle  Meserve
Nancy Twaddle Meserve, 85 years, a resident of Kennebunk, formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, early Friday morning, April 27, 2018.

Nancy was born on December 22, 1932 in Lewiston, ME, a daughter of Dr. Gard W. and Jessie L. (Farley) Twaddle. She graduated from Edward Little High School, class of 1949 and Colby College in 1953. When her children were all in school, she went on to earn two Master’s Degrees in Education from the University of Southern Maine.

In 1954, she married the love of her life, Robert T. Meserve, Sr. and together they raised their 4 children.

Nancy taught third grade at Buckfield Elementary School and C.P. Wight Elementary School in East Auburn.

In 1978, she and Bob moved to Kennebunk. They owned and operated Meserve's Market for several years, and Nancy owned Market Place Video for several years.

Mrs. Meserve enjoyed bird watching and day trips. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.

She was on the Board of the Gard W. Twaddle Nurses Fund.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents and by a brother, Gard W. Twaddle, Jr.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 64 years, Robert T. Meserve, Sr. of Kennebunk; sons, Robert T. Meserve, Jr., and his wife Becky of Kennebunk and Gard M. Meserve of, South Carolina; daughters Cindy M. McDonough and Mary Meserve, both of Kennebunk; a niece Jeanie Deletetsky of Auburn, ME; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10AM-12PM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street. Services will be private. Burial will be at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, ME at later date.
