Obituary for Sidney Frederick Marshall Jr.

Sidney Frederick  Marshall Jr.
Sidney F. Marshall Jr, 72, of Wells, ME and former longtime resident of Westford MA, died Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Kennebunk following a period of failing health.

Sidney was born June 15, 1946 in Waltham, MA, the son of Sidney Frederick and Edith Bell Higgins Marshall Sr, and is a graduate of Bedford High School, class of 1964.

Soon after graduation, he joined the United States Air Force as an electronics technician, serving in with the 4133 Bomb Wing (Prov.) based at Anderson AFB in Guam, the Vietnam Black Baron’s, 28th of the 484th Bomb Wing SAC, and was discharged in 1971 having attained the rank of Sergeant.

Returning to the Boston area, he attended Massachusetts Radio & Electronics School in Boston, graduating in 1972. He was employed with Hill-Rom in Acton, MA for 12 years as a manufacturing technician.

Sidney was a member of American Legion NAB Post 437 in Westford, MA for many years, enjoyed and was a very good mechanic working on American cars and motorcycles, and enjoyed fishing and tending his gardens.

Survivors include his two daughters, April Horne and her husband Jon of Kennebunk, ME, and Layla Fabrizio and her husband Mark of Pepperrell, MA, two sisters Judith Petersen of Litchfield, NH, and Sandra Marshall of Casa Grande, AZ, and four grandchildren; Ava and Anya Horne and Joseph and Max Fabrizio.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1PM, Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Bourne National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
