Ralph Douglas Spurling Jr., 72 years, a resident of Kennebunk, Maine formerly of Medford, MA, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at his home.
Ralph was born in Lawrence, MA on July 11, 1946, a son of Ralph Douglas Sr and Ruth H. (Eyers) Spurling and graduated from Medford High School. He served with the United States Navy in the Vietnam War. After the war, Ralph was a diesel mechanic for several trucking transportation companies for many years. He also worked for J.A. Miara Transportation of Wilmington, MA in his final working years.
Ralph loved to watch the ocean and boats with a coffee in hand from his favorite coffee shop, Dunkin’ Donuts, patronizing the shop multiple times a day. He also loved spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife Michaella Rizzari Spurling, who died in 2010, and by his sister-in-law Jo-Ann Rizzari, who took great care of Ralph for several years before she passed away in 2016.
He is survived by his two sons Douglas Spurling and his wife Megan and grandson Kaden of Arundel, ME and Matthew Spurling of Haverhill, MA and by a brother Robert Spurling.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, MA..
