Obituary for James Fred Dore

Lyman, Maine - James Fred Dore 81 years a resident of Lyman, Maine died Wednesday October 3, 2018 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a lengthy illness.
James was born in Saco, Maine on July 13, 1937 a son of Maholn Gilman and Shirley (Stevens) Dore and attended Kennebunkport Schools.
He was a heavy-duty construction operator, deep sea commercial fishing off Cape Porpoise, Maine and auto mechanic for Jim’s Service Center of Kennebunk for many years.
He was part of York County Fire Investigators and was an honorary member of Goodwins Mills Fire and Rescue. James loved boating, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
James was predeceased by his wife Mary Alice Towns Dore and a son; James Stevens Dore and his sister; Ernestine Ambrose.
James is survived by five sons William Dore of Wells, Michael Dore of Lyman, Daniel Dore and Fred Dore both of Sanford and John Dore of Ft Wayne, Indiana and a brother Elwood Dore of Seattle, WA and 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held 1 PM Wednesday October 10, 2018 at the Goodwin’s Mills Cemetery, Lyman, ME.
