Obituary for Susan Eleanor West (Hill)

Susan Eleanor  West (Hill)
Susan Eleanor West, 73, of Kennebunkport, died Monday, October 15, 2018 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford. She was born in Malden, MA on August 20, 1945, a daughter of Franklin Merriam and Eleanor (Canavan) Hill. She grew up in Malden, graduating from Malden High School. Susan then earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Nasson College.
On October 17, 1970, she married Richard Thomas West. This year would have been their 48th wedding anniversary.
For several years, she served as Assistant to the President of the Boston Company. After moving to Maine in 1975, Susan was involved in various endeavors. Most recently, she had worked as an Administrative Assistant at Sea Road School in Kennebunk prior to retiring in 2015.
When not working, she enjoyed summers on Chebeague Island, spending time with her grandchildren, making cards and other crafts, and watching the Patriots. Her laugh was infectious and made everyone around her smile.
Susan is survived by her husband, Richard West of Kennebunkport; her daughter, Brooke Williams and husband John of Cedar Knolls, NJ; son, Adam West and wife Stephanie of Ventura, CA; two sisters, Sandra Rice and husband Malcolm of Chebeague Island, ME, Rochelle McDonald of Chebeague Island, ME; five grandchildren, Ellie and Jackson Williams, Cadence, Marlie and Colbie West; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will held on Sunday, October 28th from 1-4 at the Nonantum Resort, Kennebunkport. Susan will be interred at a later date on Chebeague Island.
