Madelyn M. Amnotte, 86 years, of Old Port Road, died November 1, 2015 after a long illness at St. Andre’s Health Care Facility in Biddeford, ME.

Madelyn was born September 18, 1929 in Simsbury, CT, a daughter of James and Louise (Bartlett) Maher, Sr. On January 10, 1954 she married Robert Amnotte. She worked for Kesslen Shoe, as a housekeeper at the Cliff House Resort in Ogunquit and then for St. Martha’s Rectory for Father Cameron until she retired.

Madelyn was a Eucharistic Minister for St. Martha’s Church for many years. She enjoyed travelling and finding and visiting the local Catholic Churches during her travels. She also enjoyed crafting and had several booth locations over the years where she would sell her crafted goods. She loved music and enjoyed singing and going to dances. She belonged to the Ladies Guild and was active there and in the choir.

Madelyn was predeceased by her husband, Bob Amnotte, her mother, Louise Blake, and by her brother, James Michael Maher, Jr.

Madelyn is especially missed by her dear god child, cousin and friend, Jacqueline Colomb with whom she shared many travels and adventures. She is lovingly missed by her many god children and especially by Ann Whitten, Benjamin Colomb Sr, Penny Colomb and Janet Wiggins.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 3-6 pm at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Martha’s Church in Kennebunk. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Kennebunk.
