Obituary for Laura Jean Nadeau (Theobald)

West Kennebunk,

Laura Jean Nadeau, 68, a longtime resident of West Kennebunk, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at her home, following a period of failing health.

Laura was born November 7, 1948 in Biddeford, the daughter of Richard Herman and Evelyn Isabel Brennan Theobald, and attended Kennebunk Schools.

She was employed by Kennebunk Nursing Center in Kennebunk for over 20 years, retiring as the housekeeping supervisor.

A woman who loved the outdoors, she loved spending time at her camp in Albany, hunting, fishing, reading a good book or putting together a puzzle. Her abilities in the kitchen are remembered as some of the best meals her family ever had, especially her zucchini bread, sour pickles that really made you pucker, and the time spent around the dinner table catching up with each other at the end of the day.

She is predeceased by her brother, Randy Theobald.

Laura is survived by her husband Norman “Babe” Nadeau of West Kennebunk, two sons Edward Nadeau of Westbrook and Richard Nadeau of Springvale, two daughters Debbie Mosher and Beth Nadeau, both of Kennebunk, two brothers Alan “Bubba” Theobald of Arundel, and Richard Theobald of Wells, a sister Peggy Hoone of Florida, and 4 grandchildren, Justin, Isabelle, Thomas and Christian.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 4- 6PM Monday, August 14, 2017 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St. Kennebunk. A graveside service will be held 10 AM Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Pinegrove Cemetery, West Kennebunk.
