Dear Jean, Margaret, Emily, Robert and Michael and all those related to Bert or "just" friends, we were extremely sad hearing the news about Bert's passing. We had hoped to visit with him again, to have a chance to talk - and, hopefully, crack some jokes. Instead, we will be saying goodbye on Sunday and every day before and thereafter. Jean and Bert and their children have been our best friends, and we have shared many instances in our respective families. We tried to support each other emotionally when there was a need, and through calls, visits and many dinners over delicious wine. We will miss Bert without any end, but we will stay with Jean and her family, support her sadness and despair and ensure that they all will know that we always have and always will be close friends.
