Marion D.  Jones (Davis)
Marion Davis Jones, 95, of Kennebunk Maine and formerly from Stamford and Darien, CT, died peacefully in her sleep early on the morning of January 30, 2018.
Born in Stamford, CT on July 9, 1922, Marion was the daughter of the late Howard Wm Davis and Irene Joyce Davis. Marion graduated from Stamford High School with the class of 1940 and went on to work as a Trust Officer for The Stamford Savings Bank.
In March of 1947, Marion married her High School sweetheart, John L. Jones, Jr. and together they moved to Darien, CT to begin their family. Marion enjoyed making her home a comforting place for all and she always made herself available for anyone in need of a good chat and a cup of coffee. She was a proficient seamstress, an avid gardener, very mechanically inclined, and a crossword puzzle enthusiast. Marion's keen sense of humor was appreciated by everyone she knew throughout her life.
Marion was a member of PEO Chapter E in Darien, CT. She and Jack enjoyed ballroom dancing and were founding members of The Darien Dance Club.
Marion was predeceased by John L. Jones, Jr., her husband of 61 years and her sister, Shirley Davis Pettitt. She is survived by her Daughter, Susan J. Stornelli and her husband Mark of Kennebunkport, ME; a Son, J. Richard Jones of Norwalk, CT; and Grandchildren, Brian A. Stornelli and his wife Meghan of Pownal, ME; Hilary L.Doskocil and her husband Nathan of Stratham, NH; and Jessica L. Jones of Lexington, KY.
Arrangements will be handled by Bibber Memorial Chapel in Kennebunk, ME and Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien, CT. Interment will follow at a date to be determined at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien, CT.
