Condolence: I am the retired District Conservationist from the federal USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. My office was in Sanford Maine and I covered all types of conservation activities in York County for 21 years. I met Margaret (thus I called her) in the early 1990's. She had come to my office for help with the Comprehensive Planning Committee for Kennebunkport of which she was an active member. Her concern was to get citizen participation in the planning process. She loved Kennebunkport and passionately wanted all residents to understand the town's history and protect the town resources. I suggested she produce a video (state of the art technology at the time) on Kennebunkport's history and natural resources. She thought this was a good idea but neither of us really understood how much work producing a quality video entailed. We met numerous times over the course of several months, Margaret doing most of the work while I just gave input and some advice, the easy part of the job. She got involved with the local community TV station and they helped her immensely with the physical production. She obtained and produced all of the content matter, a huge, huge job. The tape was finally finished. It was of excellent quality and aired numerous times on the local cable channel. She laughingly told me if she had really known how much work it was, she might never have taken it on. She made sure I got a copy. When I saw that she had passed I was very saddened. I enjoyed her as much as anyone I worked with. She had a great personality, stuck with the job till the end and always was pleasurable and enthusiastic. I do not often reach out like this, but it's something I wanted to do to remember the great endeavor we shared.
