Chau Van Nguyen, 50, of Arundel, died early Tuesday morning, June 26, 2018, at his residence following a battle with cancer. He was born in Vietnam on October 8, 1967, a son of Yen and Phai (Nguyen) Nguyen. Chau lived in Vietnam until the age of 13, and then immigrated to the United States along with his family in 1980. They settled in Kennebunk, living on Brown Street. He graduated from Kennebunk High School, Class of 1986, where he excelled in soccer.

Chau was a Layout Inspector at Pratt-Whitney for 20 years. He met his future wife, Sandra Dee Murphy, at a party. Love blossomed, and they were married on July 8, 2001.

When not working, he loved to spend time with family and friends, and also enjoyed salt water fishing. He launched his boat at Wells Harbor and was well known in the area.

Chau is predeceased by his father Yen; one brother, Dung; a sister, Hoang.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Dee Nguyen of Arundel; his step-son, James Slade of Arundel; two daughters, Brittany Nguyen of Arundel and Angela Nguyen of Biddeford; five brothers, Qui of Kennebunk, Ngoc of Arundel, Diep of Arundel, Thanh of MA, Hai of Kennebunk; two sisters, Thuy of MA and Van of NJ; his mother, Phai of Arundel; two grandsons, Bohdi Wilkons and Myles Archer; granddaughter Darcy Stevens..

Visiting hours will be on Friday, June 29 , 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk. Funeral services will be private.
