Obituary for Stormy D. West

Stormy D.  West
Stormy D. West, 76, of Arundel, died Wednesday morning, August 8, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Biddeford, Maine on December 14, 1941, the son of Henry Andrew West and Ruth Louise (Mitchell) West. Stormy attended Kennebunk schools, Southern Maine Technical College, and Biddeford Regional Vocational Center.
Stormy proudly served in the Army National Guard.
Stormy worked as a welder for most of his life, working for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Seabrook Nuclear Power facility, and Hussey Seating in North Berwick. He also owned and operated his own welding business, Omega Welding, in Kennebunkport.
In earlier years, he was an avid body builder, and a martial arts expert, holding a certification of 1st degree black belt. Stormy enjoyed hunting and target shooting as well. He was a hard working man with devoted love for his family.
He is predeceased by his brother, Edgar West and wife Margaret; and his sister, Lasca Crowley.
Stormy is survived by his wife Lorraine West of Arundel; daughters Angela and Melanie; Step-son Guy and wife Margaret; step-daughter Denise and husband Tony; grandchildren Kaitlynn and Zachary; step-grandchildren Cristy and Courtney; step great grandchildren Tyler and Abby; nephew Edgar “Fred;” niece Debbie; and brother-in-law Merle Crowley.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Biddeford.
