Condolence: My deepest condolences to Laurel's family and friends. I didn't know her personally but I did loose my own dear mother six years ago. Psalm 94:18,19 was a passage that reminded me of our loving Creators strength and support through difficult times. May it comfort you during your grief.

Condolence: From the moment I met Laurel in 1973 I was overcome with her positivity, her knowledge, and her enthusiasm. She exuded energy and real down-to-earth charm. Her faith in people, in goodness, in the ability to learn and grow was boundless. She was a mentor to me and so many other aspiring teachers. She was a matchless and supportive colleague to me at USM. She had the ability to make others feel truly remarkable. I am proud to call her my friend. She lit up the world with her presence.

Condolence: Laurel inspired students and colleagues alike with her intelligent and cheerful determination to light up the world of literacy for all. I was proud to work along side her at USM and proud to call her friend. And happy to reconnect in recent years over lunches w fellow iliteracy warriors, where Laurel's talent and determination inspired once again. I will miss her fiercely.

Condolence From: Nicholas H Walsh
Condolence: She was a lovely, lovely person and I feel very lucky to have known her. Her attitude was always, always positive, more so than anyone else I have known. And she did love her children and grandchildren. I was so sorry when she got sick, because she enjoyed life so much and she was in such a good place, with some not so easy days well behind her. I will miss her. The world will miss her - we need many more like Laurel.
