Polly loved her family, and always tried to make her home a place of comfort for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and to follow their activities as much as she could. She was an avid skier and she and Vin regularly traveled to different ski locations throughout the country, often with her grandchildren. She enjoyed travel, especially to San Francisco and to New Orleans with its Jazz music.

She is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Vincent J Hickey, MD, who died in 2008; her brother Eugene “Buddy” Small, who died in 1962; and her sister Barbara Dodge who died in 1993.

Survivors include her son Neil Hickey of Scarborough, Neil’s wife Patricia, her son Peter Hickey of Jackson, NH; a nephew Brent Small of Kennebunk; a niece Barbara Small Prunty of District Heights California; grandchildren Christopher Small of Buxton; Kathryn Fantoli and her husband Rick of Sterling Connecticut; and Joseph Small and his wife Kelsey of Chelsea; five great grandchildren; and her dog Ollie.
