Obituary for Eunice Lorraine Carr (Fischer)

EUNICE LORRAINE CARR, 94, of Saco, Maine passed away on September 23rd, 2018.
Born in Newark, N.J. on October 18, 1923, she was the daughter of Frank H. and Christine K. Fischer. Eunice graduated from West Side High School in 1940, where she met her future husband, Joseph J. Carr. Eunice graduated from Berkeley Secretarial School in 1941. She worked as a secretary at Clark Thread, prior to her marriage to Joe in 1946. She was the proud mother of two sons, Donald and Paul Carr. Once her children were in grade school, she returned to work at I.E. Schaffer & Co. in Plainfield, N.J., then later in Trenton, until her retirement in 1993. She cared for her husband Joe; who had a stroke in 1977, until his death in 2002. She moved from Lawrenceville to Manchester, N.J., until moving in 2012 to live closer to her son, Paul, in Kennebunkport, ME. She was moved from Huntington Common in Kennebunk, into assisted living at the Inn at Atlantic Heights, in Saco, in 2013. Later, she moved to Seal Rock for long term care for Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 2002, and her son, Donald in 2014. Survivors include her son Paul and wife Lynne, daughter-in-law Celia Lin, first daughter-in-law Judith Naiman Carr, and grandson Rafael Carr; granddaughter Alexina Carr Seedorf, husband Scott, and great grandson Jackson. Eunice will be missed by her family, colleagues, and all her many friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at South Congregational Church in Kennebunkport, Maine. Burial will be private at a later date. The family wants to thank all the caregivers at Inn at Atlantic Heights, Seal Rock, and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care given to Eunice.
