Obituary for Evelyn Marie "Peg" Todd (Bradford)

Evelyn Marie "Peg"  Todd (Bradford)
Evelyn “Peg” Marie Todd, 100 years, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Kennebunk Center for Health and Rehabilitation following a brief illness.

Evelyn was born in Newfield, ME on May 11, 1918, a daughter of Harry C. and Gladys M. (Lord) Bradford. She attended Newfield schools and graduated from Ethan Stone High School in Newfield.

In 1938 she married Colin Todd and lived in Arundel in the home he built for over 75 years, the future site of the new Arundel Town Hall.

Peg enjoyed cooking and quilting, making a baby quilt for each new member of the family. She cultivated strawberries and sold them at her stand where she enjoyed meeting many of the folks from the community. She was an avid reader, often times reading a book a day. For a short time, she worked at Kennebunk High School in the cafeteria.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Colin Duncan Todd, who died in 1968 and by a sister, Cora MacDonald.

She is survived by her niece, Avis Going Taylor of Arundel, a nephew John B. MacDonald and his wife Georgia of Dover, NH, several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 11AM at Evergreen Cemetery, Port Road, Kennebunk, with the Rev. James King officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Peg’s memory can be made to the West Kennebunk Methodist Church, PO Box 532, West Kennebunk, ME 04094.
