Obituary for Harvey Walter Hart
Harvey Walter Hart, 81, of Lyman, passed on Sunday evening, February 10, 2019 at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford, ME with family by his side. He was born in Berlin, NH on October 3, 1937, a son of Otis John and Dorothy Louise Lang Hart. He grew up West Milan and Lancaster, NH.
Harvey and his future wife Dorothy met in high school and were married January 26, 1957, recently celebrating their 62nd anniversary.
Following high school, Harvey began a career that spanned 37 years with the New Hampshire State Highway Department, working alongside his father for many years.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed many outdoor activities with his brother, including hunting in Blood Swamp, fishing the brooks of Cherry Mountain, and snowmobiling the Great North Woods of New Hampshire.
He is predeceased by a daughter, Cindy Hart Hoover; and his twin brother, Alton Hart.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife Dorothy M. (Libby) Hart who, in the last years of Harvey’s life was always by his side caring for him; three daughters, Deb Levesque and husband Norm, Kim Robert and husband Ron, Chris Murphy and her husband Shawn. Harvey always treasured the time he spent with his nine grandchildren: Alex and Dana Hoover, Nathan, Matt, and Katie Levesque, Emily and Casey Robert, Delaney and Patric Murphy; and his first great grandchild Violet.
Harvey’s wishes were there be no services or calling hours. Donations can be made in his name to: Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 43, West Kennebunk, ME 04094.
