Obituary for Glenn Richard Steadman

Glenn Richard Steadman
Glenn Richard Steadman, 48, passed away on October 17, 2017 at his home in Boston, MA, after a long and difficult illness.
Born in Boston, MA, Glenn was the beloved son of Sharon Hart of Revere, MA. Raised in Pittsfield, ME, he graduated high school from the Maine Central Institute (MCI). Glenn attended the University of Southern Maine in Portland, ME, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Geology. He continued his education in the biotech field, working as a Senior Microbiologist for Genzyme/Sanofi in Framingham, MA, for the past several years.
Glenn was a very kind, gentle soul that inspired all around him. He was incredibly gifted in the arts and music, even having a song from his former band, DIN, on Guitar Hero. He was a self-published author of Transpod, and dabbled in most anything creative. Glenn also took great pleasure in discussing world happenings and politics; especially, with a small group of his closest friends from MCI (high school), who e-mailed each other, daily, for the past 30 years.
Glenn is survived by his life partner, Anthony (Ann) LoPresti of Old Orchard Beach, ME; two children, Rachael Sanders and her husband, Paxton Sanders, of Steilacoom, WA, and Bailey LoPresti of Old Orchard Beach, ME; mother, Sharon Hart of Revere, MA; brother, Paul Steadman and his girlfriend, Robin Stewart, of Orlando, FL; mother-in-law, Charlene LoPresti of Old Orchard Beach, ME; two sisters-in-law, Jodine Adams of Old Orchard Beach, ME, and Julie LoPresti and her husband, Justin Berg, of Old Orchard Beach, ME; grandmother, Claudia LeClaire of Revere, MA; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of Life for Glenn’s family and friends will be held at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME, October 28, 2017, from 1-3:30pm. Opening “prayer” at 1pm, with additional thoughts, songs, and an opportunity to share personal sentiments and memories, between 3-3:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, due to Glenn’s great love of animals, please feel free to donate in Glenn’s name to the Town of Old Orchard Beach, 1 Portland Avenue, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064. Please include in the memo section of the check “Community Animal Watch’.
