Obituary for Jean M. Walsh (Sheehan)

Meredith, New Hampshire

Jean M. Walsh, 85, of Meredith, formerly of Howard Avenue, Wells, ME, died Monday, November 27, 2017 at Golden View Health Care Center. Born Jean Sheehan in Boston on November 20, 1932 to Eugene Sheehan and Amelda Owens Sheehan. She was educated in Boston schools and worked as a bookkeeper for Crown Investment Co. for 20 years. She was also a district manager for a chain of womens boutique clothing stores in Mass., before moving to Wells in 1985 where she worked in sales at Aileen’s in Wells for many years and also worked at the Wells Public Library. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Wells, St. Mary's Sodality, an honorary member of the Ogunquit Women’s Club and a member of the Ogunquit Senior Center. She was an avid reader and walker and loved to walk the beaches in Wells and Ogunquit.

She is predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Edward Colgan; her son, Patrick Colgan; her second husband, Harold Walsh; a sister, Mary Sullivan; and a brother, John Sheehan.

Survived by a nephew, Michael Sullivan; nieces, Tricia Sullivan and LuAnn Walsh; and by her special friends, Brenda and Jocelyn Layman.

There are no visiting hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Spirit Parish/St. Mary’s Church, 236 Eldridge Road, Wells. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells.
