At the Beach

When we were kids at the Beach I was always impressed by David's stamp collection, butterfly and moth collection, and coin collection.  He was such an individual.  For instance, the bedrooms in his house were not heated, but he had a wood stove in HIS bedroom.  When we were teens, I was very impressed that he smoked in his room despite his mothers aversion to drinking and smoking.  He had a very strong will.  No one was going to make him do anything he didn't want to do or keep him from doing what he wanted to do.  He was always very deliberate in his actions, whether in sports, card games or pool. When he got his license, his parents had a new car.  It was parked in the big garage at the Wentworth hotel.  We were going to go to the movies and he misjudged the distance and creased the fender of that new car on the edge of the garage backing out.  That was alright - he just drove ahead, moved the car over and out we went and off to the movies.  I have no idea what happened when his family discovered the crease.
